Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is the national entrance examination conducted primarily for engineering in which more than 12 lakh students in the country appear every year. The exam is also the eligibility test for attending JEE (Advanced) which the entrance examination for admissions to the Indian Institutes of Technology. There are two papers in JEE Main – for B.Tech programmes and for B.Arch or B.Planning programmes. All is for the admission to the 31 NITS, 23 IITs and 22 CFT1s . What is the eligibility criteria to apply for IITs?
For admissions into 11Ts. the candidate should firstly qualify and be under the top candidates mentioned in the merit list of JEE (Main) exam. Such candidates will be required to attempt and pass JEE (Advanced) exam with the required cutoff for 11T admission. The candidates should have also scored at least aggregate marks (65% ror SC/SI* category) or be in the top 20 percentile in standard (or equivalent) hoard exam.

What is the eligibility criteria to apply for NITS?
To apply for NCI’s, the candidates will have to qualify JEE (Main) examination with the required cutoff ranks. However, all JEE (Main) qualified candidates will not be eligible to apply for NITs. For admissions into NITS, the candidates should have secured at least 75% marks (6.5% for SC/ST category) or be in the top percentile in 12th standard (or equivalent) board examination. If this criteria is not met. then the candidate will be termed ineligible for NIT admissions

What is the eligibility criteria to apply for IITs?
IITs offer admission to candidates based on their JEE (Main) ranks. Therefore, all candidates will have to qualify JEE (Main) exam with the cutoff marks prescribed by the authorities. Along with the JEE (Main) scores, the candidates should have also qualified 12th standard qualifying (or equivalent) examination with at least 75% aggregate marks (65% for SC/ ST category) or should have been in the top percentile in the 12th standard examination conducted by the respective boards-

How will I know my state of eligibility for JEE (Main)?
The state where the candidate has completed his / her 12th standard examination will be his/her state of eligibility For example. If a candidate has qualified his her 12th standard examination from Haryana, then the state code is Haryana. The state code of eligibility will be provided by JEE (Main) officials and the respective code has to be filled by the candidates in the application form.

What is the state quota eligibility requirement to get seat in NIT?
To be eligible for home state quota for NITs, the state of eligibility of the candidates should be the same as the state in which the NIT is located. For e.g, to get admissions through the home state quota of NIT Warangal, the candidate should have qualified his her 12th standard examination from Telangana.

I have completed class Xll and have taken a drop to pre. pare for JEE (Main). Will it affect my admission ?
No. As long as the qualifying year for 12th standard set by the CBSE is fulfilled, the candidate will be eligible for the exam.

I am dyslexic. Will I fall under PwD category? What certificates should I submit for this?
Yes. Dyslexic candidates fall under PwD category. The following certificates have to be submitted by the candidates: Application for obtaining disability certificate by Persons with Disabilities e Disability Certificate Category Certificate

If I have a gap after class 10, can I apply for JEE (Main)?
Yes. You will be eligible to apply for JEE (Slain) examination provided you meet the requisite eligibility.

I have failed in class 12 and appeared for the exam again. Can I apply for JEE (Main)?
If have passed the examination in the qualifying year set by CBSE, you can apply (for JEE (main).

If I wish to apply for JEE (Main) Paper Il, what is the eligibility needed?
To apply for JEE (Main) Paper Il, candidates will have to qualify 12th standard. They should have studied 5 subjects in 12th qualifying examination namely Language. Physics, Mathematics (compulsory): any one – Chemistry, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject and any other subject. The candidates should have been born on or after October l, 1993 (relaxation rules apply for SC’ ST, PwL)).

Can I apply for both JEE (Main) paper I & Il?
Yes. You will be able to apply for both JEE (Main) Paper I & 2 if you meet the eligibility specified.

If I am a Biology student and have studied Physics & Chemistry, can I apply for JEE (Main)?
Applicants must verify their mobile No and email Id. They will receive an PIN for each Application Process/Admit Card after clicking on the verification tab and they should use that to verify the details.  Step 4 Uploading of Scanned Documents: The scanned images of the candidates’ photograph, signature and parent’s signature has to be uploaded in the application form.

No, you will not be able to apply for JEE (Main) since Mathematics is a compulsory subject that all candidates should have studied in 12th standard.

How to apply for JEE (Main)?
The application form will be available online for all aspirants. It should be noted that no other mode of application will be accepted by the admission authorities. Candidates will have to submit the application form before the final date otherwise they will not be registered for the exam. Aadhaar Card number has become mandatory to fill in the application form. The following five steps can be followed to successfully fill the JEE (Main) application form:

Step I – Authentication through Aadhaar/identity: Firstly, the candidates will have to register by submitting their nationality, state of eligibility, identification proof, identification number, name, date of birth. gender.

Step 2 – Filling of Online Application Form: Next, candidates will have to enter their exam related details along with their personal information, academic details, contact and guardian details. A password has to be created by the candidates for future login purposes.

Step 3 – Verifying Mobile Number and Email ID: Candidates scanned images should be according to the specifications mentioned by the official authorities.

Step 5 Payment of Application Fees: Candidates will have to pay the required application fees. The payment can be done through online mode (credit card/debit/net banking/ paytm) or through online mode i.e., e-challan. The amount of application fee to be paid will be calculated according to me category. gender of the candidates.

Step 6 – Slot Booking (only for CBT candidates): Candidates who are appearing for the JEE (Main) online exam must book the slots for the exam after payment.

Failure to do so will result in them being given a random slot by CBSE.

Step 7 – Print out of Confirmation Page: Finally, candidates will have to download and print out the acknowledgement slip for future use.

What documents do you require to apply for JEE (Main)?
A. Before filling the JEE (Main) application form, all candidates are requested to keep scanned images of their photograph, signature and parent’s signature ready. Since these documents have to be uploaded in the application form, the specifications released by the official authorities have to be met. Photograph — The passport size photograph should be recent and taken with a white background. The size of the file should( be between 4 KB to 40 KB and the dimensions should be 3 cm x 4.5 cm.

How can candidates outside India (PIO/OCI/NRI) apply for JEE (Main) without Aadhaar?

Candidates Outside India may apply using their Passport details

Candidates who have passed or are appearing in 10 b2 from the stales of .J&K, Assam & Meghalaya need to enter their passport number. ration card number. bank account number or any other valid (Government identity number. It must be noted that these candidates will be able to choose an exam centre in their respective states only.

Can candidates from Assam/J&K/Meghalaya with Aadhaar card choose an exam centre outside their home state?
Candidates who have passed or are appearing in 10+2 from the states of.J&K, Assam & Meghalaya and have Aadhaar Card can choose any exam centre across India. Candidate must ensure that details like name, date of birth & gender used for filling JEE (Main) online application form are the same as in 10, 10+2 Certificate/Mark sheet.

What is the JEE (Main) application fee?
The application fees has to be paid by the candidates to be registered for the entrance examination. JEE (Main) application fees will be according to the category and gender of the candidate along with his/her choice of examination mode. The payment has to be done in online (credit card/debit card) or offline mode (e-challan). The examination fee calculator will also be made available by CBSE for the candidates.
